TRAVEL COMFORTABLY WITH GANGWON TOURIST TAXI

5 PLACES YOU SHOULD NOT MISS IN GANGNEUNG

1. Jeongdongjin Station

The first destination is Jeongdongjin Railway Station. If you depart by train to Gangneung from Seoul or any other cities in South Korea, you will arrive at this station. Uniquely, this station is located right in front of Jengdongjin beach.

A little fact about this station, it is the closest train station to the coast as reported in the Guinness World Record. Not only limited to train passengers but the platform at this station can also be accessed by the public and tourists.

The way to enter the platform is to buy an entrance ticket at the ticketing counter which will cost 1,000 won. Then, you can enter the area around the platform and enjoy the beautiful view from this station.

2. Jeongdongjin Rail Bike

The second destination is the Jeongdongjin railbike. The ticket counter is located right next to the Jeongdongjin Station.

Visitors can experience themselves handling a railbike and riding right on the shores of Jeongdongjin. For your information, this rail bike is semi-automatic so it is not difficult to conduct. On the other hand, you can have a leeway ride while strolling along the seaside. The cost for this railbike is 25,000 won for a 2-person bike and 35,000 won for a 4-person bike.

3. Jeongdongjin Beach

Next is Jeongdonjin Beach. This is the one top sunrise spot in Korea. At this beach, there is the largest Hourglass stand overlooking the beach. Interestingly, this hourglass will rotate on December 31st at midnight each year to mark the new beginning of the year.

Not only that but there is also a Jeongdongjin Time Museum. What makes it interesting it was set up inside the train coach!

It exhibits the evolution of clocks in the world. Various types of clocks are exhibited ranging from traditional to the modern clock. Besides that, this museum also holds a collection of unique and whimsical clocks where it can only be seen in this exhibition. It’s a new experience to walk down an old train coach and understand the history behind modern clocks nowadays.

Not to forget, at the end of the exhibition there is a staircase that connects the museum and the observatory deck. Do not miss the opportunity to take pictures of memories with friends.

4. Hassla Art World

The next destination is Hassla Art World. This place is also a major attraction in Gangneung. A must-go destination when visiting Gangneung.

It is an art museum featuring a modern art floor, Pinocchio floor, and an amazing, beautiful sculpture park. There are various exhibitions inside this art gallery. They all have their artistic value. Not only that, but this art museum also features a restaurant and café for visitors to relax for a second before continuing the tour to the outside of this art building.

On the outside of the building there exist a sculpture park. Here, you can find a variety of modern installation art. Since the arts are set against the backdrop of the vast ocean, it somehow makes the perfect combination of insta-worthy spots.

The entrance fees for the museum are 12,000 won and you are allowed to roam freely and immersed in the world of art as long as you want.

5. Aranabi Zipline

For an adrenaline rush, don’t miss the opportunity to challenge the zipline in Gangneung! Honestly, this is another highlight of the trip. Interestingly, this is one of the first ziplines in Korea that overlooks the beautiful Ocean!

The cost of this zipline ride for an adult is 20,000 won, a return trip. The weight limit for zipline is 20kg to 130kg.
